This year, we celebrate the 75th Anniversary from when the titular painting of Our Lady of Ta' Pinu was crowned. Every day, the sanctuary is visit by a great number of pilgrims who pray Our Lady for Her help. Apart from all this, this year, this painting was honoured by by 'Rosa d'Oro' (Golden Rose' by H.E. Pope Benedict XVI during his visit to the Maltese Islands.
To commemorate this occasion, we are organising a concert of sacred music on Friday 18th June at 7.30pm in Ta' Pinu Sanctuary.
This concert is being organised by 'The Three Attards'. Although, these three musicians have the same surname, they are not related. The only thing that relates is music and Schola Cantorum Jubilate. Whilst, the pianist Stephen Attard is the oldest amongst them, and has a great reputation in his field, Marouska is also well known in the musical field. She is a soprano and the director of Schola Cantorum Jubilate. Philip Attard, apart from being a bass singer, is also a very promising saxophonist. During this concert, they will be playing together, and they will interpret works by Bach, Handel, Mozart amongst others. During this same concert, there will be recitals of Marian readings.
Everyone is invited for this concert. Entrance is free of charge, and all those interested are asked to be seated by 7.15pm.
