For the first time this year, Ta' Pinu Sanctuary will introduce a new liturfy for Malta - The Hour of the Mother. this is a marian celebration which has been held in Rome since 1982. The late pope, John Paul II himself had wished that it will be celebrated in St Peter's basilica in Rome. The sense of this celbration is linked with the morning of Easter Saturday which besides being a day of grieving for the death of Christ, is also the day where we expect the resurrection of Our Lord. The Church will wait for Christ's resurrection with Mary who was by her son whilst he endured his torture and death. It is her hour because since Christ is dead, she is carrying within her heart all the hardship in an act of faith and expectaion.
This beautiful celebration has been translated to our language by fr Gerard Buhagiar and is going to be held for the first time in the sanctuary dedicated to Our Lady of Ta' Pinu on Easter Saturday, 15th April 2006 at 9.00am. The full text for this celebration has been published by Ta' Pinu Publiations in a booklet and this booklet may be obtained from the sanctuary of Ta'Pinu.
