On Sunday 17th February 2008, there was the closing of the Week dedicated to the Sick and the Elderley in the diocese of Gozo.

This was done by the celebration of mass in Ta' Pinu Sanctuary. Participants included not only the sick and the elderly but also those persons and groups who contribute their help to the sick and the elderly. The celebration was led by Mgr Giovanni Gauci, together with Fr Mario Cassar whos is the bishop's delegate for the sick, and Fr Joseph Cardona who works as a priest in Gozo General Hospital.
