Prayer of Petition to the Blessed Virgin Mary of Ta' Pinu
I
The call of Mary
O Mary, on this special day we remember the call that you made to us in the Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary through Karmni Grima and Francesco Portelli in order that we may revere you in the mystery of your glorious Death and Assumption into Heaven and also to worship your Son Our Lord Jesus Christ, who because of our sings, carried the Cross amidst the most cruel suffering.
Therefore we fall upon on our knees and with our entire heart we ask you to hear our cry. We bring to you our humble prayers for ourselves, for our families, our children, our youth, our sick and our elderly and for all those who are afflicted. Give us the peace and serenity that we need in the life and above all help us so that on your example and that of our Lord Jesus Christ, we may live a holy life and carry with patience our cross every day, so that our death may be for us a passage that leads to eternal glory with you in Heaven.
Amen

The death of Mary
O Mary, living Temple of innocence, you who came out victorious over sin and are above all angels in your purity, who were not worthy to suffer the pain of sin; but as a daughter of Adam you were also surrounded by sorrows and suffered death at the end, as happens to every person who comes through life. However, your death was the effect of love, which when arriving at its climax, it unfettered you from the bond of the body, so that you would be united entirely with Christ. We too, O Mary, would like to be united with your Son but we are guilty of various sins and the thought of death assails us and confuses us. Help us so that death would be for us the sleep of the just; take away from us the fear of these last moments by handing them to the love of your Jesus, make them docile by coming to our aid as a Mother full of mercy.
Amen
Hail Mary...
The Awakening and Ascending ofthe Virgin into Heaven
O Mary, living dwelling of the Son of God made Man, your sinless body put by the Apostles into the coffin did not have anything to do with the effects of death, but after three days was united again with your blessed soul and received everlasting life; and you were taken into the Heavens amidst the joy and praise of all the angels. Have mercy on our weaknesses; help us that cleansed by the weeping of authentic penance, we may not let our enemy win us over once again; come to our aid that we may protect our heart and our body as a living temple of the Almighty so that on the last day we may arise again from the earth and our bodies may be changed into perfection and we may be called to enter into the kingdom of the saints together with Christ our Judge and from him we may hear the sentence of everlasting life and thus enter into the abode prepared for us by the Father since the foundation of the world.
Amen

Prayer
O Mary, the firstborn among all creatures, among whom there is n body who has your holiness, you who accompanied Jesus in his suffering of the Cross’ you were worthy of participating in his everlasting triumph. Now you are above all the choirs of angels on the right hands of the Son, crowned by the Blessed Trinity from whom you received the glory of being above all powers in heaven and on earth. Through you O Mary, the doors of Heaven were opened to us; in your hands Christ has left the treasures of grace and the fruit of salvation obtained by his passion, death and resurrection. Save us O most docile and merciful of mothers; may the treasures of God’s grace be bestowed on us through you. Give us as sense of contrition for all our sins and may your merciful Son be merciful towards us; attract us to the light of the holiness that emanates from your life that we may live as you lived. And as we today venerate you with love, joy and praise, may we also one day come to thank you in Heaven and thus have a share in your heavenly crown and enjoy God forever and ever.
Amen
Hail Queen, Mother of Mercy...
